Running a paysite featuring content for the Sims 2 is considered to be a violation of both the Electronic Arts Terms of Service and copyright law. This includes both content that is sold directly and content that is offered as part of a subscription service… I can assure you that, legally, Electronic Arts owns the rights to all material created from our engine, and that the sharing of said material for free on community sites is completely legal, even if it is material that some players are attempting to sell.

The Chaz Designs torrent will probably be my last for a while. Torrenting this stuff is incredibly tedious and I’m getting a bit fed up of it. I’m also slightly peed off that I’m still having to seed some of the older torrents, 1 of which died completely because no one seeded it for weeks. Come on, people, sharing is caring.

    keep sending those packs in by torrent, I will seed them as I have some Mbytes to spend each month, so a second source would do you good

    mail me when there are new packs, I usually seed during GMT -1 : 7 and 10 a.m.

    OMG! You are amazing. Being a Sims game lovie for so long, I was really peeved to find that so many websites dedicated to this wonderful game were becoming paysites and you had to start paying for custom content.

    Halleluja, someone is standing up to all those fricking paysites! It’s always bugged me how, essentially, paysites are against EA copyright policy.

    And in addition you’ve even taken the time to torrent all this stuff - wow! You show ‘em!

    Silver’s Reply: It’s loading okay for me. I read somewhere (edit: it’s on SFV) PMBD sometimes bans IPs, yours may have accidentally ended up on the ban list, or maybe your ISP doesn’t want to co-operate? Try a proxy server like hidemyass.com. If there’s something particular you want just drop me a line and I’ll put it on the torrents.

    Silver’s reply: I wouldn’t advise it. If you’re using Firefox you CAN use the Download Them All plugin, which is what I use when collecting files for torrents, and they have no problem with that, my IP never got blacklisted, but other download accelerators I don’t know.

    DUDE! You need to clean out SimChic. They are so outrageous with their stuff and pricing. It’s bad enough EA has us paying out of our asses with expansion pack after expansion pack, but to get content you have to either [censored - Please keep your language clean for the kiddies, thank you] or pay. I’d rather [censored]. :)

I couldn’t give a fiddler’s about being banned from that crap site, the simple reason I hate them is because they are thieves, scam artists and liars, as well as being an illegal site. They don’t deserve anyone’s money, especially from trusting kids, and that’s why I’m doing it.

    Is it possible to update the booty pages? Specifically from TSR it would be sincerely appreciated. I’m pining for the new garden and medieval stuff.
    Wholeheartedly agree about TSR being scam artist and thieves. The new items they post a lot of times are really old a lot of times even as old as 8 or 9 years and they want people to pay for it.

    I also understand what you mean about the torrent seeds been there done that my self a lot ;) Unfortunately that’s why I don’t use/do BT that much anymore tired of seeding forever even when they aren’t even my torrents but what ya gonna do? :D

    Sad to see the disappointment on my daughters face when I tell her “No we are not buying sims items”. I cannot believe people would pay for most of it anyway seriously not worth the price! Now thanks to you I have a very happy compromise for her!!.

I’ve downloaded Juttaponath, but the game didn’t recognize any of the clothes. And there’s too many of the same outwear appearing. Can you explain me what happened? I’ve installed via Clean Installer. And there were many meshes among the files. I really didn’t get what was the deal…

    Silver’s Reply: Hello Mayra. As I explained in the list above, they were made with the unpatched Pets BodyShop, you need to manually fix them with SimPe. Go here for how to do it. Be sure to check the troubleshooting page next time you have problems with the files. Other than that I can’t provide support for these files, they aren’t my work.

    Silver’s Reply: Sorry I can’t help you more. You might try fixing the files anyway and see if they work then. I’ve only tried out a few of these and they worked fine after I fixed them. You could either try contacting Juttaponath herself, or look through her minisite to see if any more meshes are needed. I don’t know why they’re showing up as outerwear?!?! By the way you shouldn’t need the clean installer for these. They are just plain package files to drop into your Downloads folder.

    First, I would like to thank you for the wonderful stuff that you took from that horrid site. Without this site and the booty, I don’t think I’ll be able to enjoy some of the wonderful (surprisingly) items from tsr.

    2. Is it possible to grab some hu@banzhu’s stuff from tsr? I would really love to have a set called Hu@banzhu’s Children Bedroom. The booty does not have the mesh, though the recolours are there (red and orange).

    -a reason I did not mail them for the mesh is they are quite strict about tsr and that scared me to do that.

    Silver’s Reply: Everything in the torrents is from the booty. In T$R’s dreams am I handing over my money to that site! Besides which, I would be blacklisted if I ever tried to subscribe there anyway. So I can’t help you with that. Try SimsFileVault (if it ever comes back online)

    Are TS1 paysites illegal, too?

    It bites me as a Sims 1 fan that this paysite protesting is being framed as only being a TS2 issue. It’s assumed that all TS1 sites are free (and nobody plays “boring, cheesy TS1″ anymore. I know at least SOMEBODY here has called TS1 this!), probably all because T$R’s Sims 1 files are 100% free now… Not so!

    There are TONS of TS1 paysites out there and on top of that, TONS of dead TS1 sites. Not to mention that we don’t have a “Mod the Sims 1″ (ie: a large, stable community website to download unlimited free stuff from).

    I support your cause, but just remember us TS1 fans. We actually do exist, and hate paysites as much as you guys do.

    Silver’s Reply: Yes as far as I’m aware, TS1 paysites are illegal too. There was something about this on SFV, I think there was a proposal to have something like the booty for TS1 payfiles, I’m not sure if it ever happened though. The thing is, there isn’t *as much* demand for TS1 payfiles as there is for TS2 payfiles, and I think the anti-paysite movement only emerged in the TS2 days, hence TS1 isn’t included in the booty, but if you can find enough TS1 players who feel the same perhaps you could club together and put any pay files you have up onto the torrents? ETA: I *think* there’s a section on SFV for TS1 pay files. I’ll have a check when it’s back up.

    Now plz, if its not too much to ask, could you upload siluetta’s and jirka’s stuff at tsr as well? great clothing and skins from both, but it sucks that you have to pay.
    Also, could you upload glamorouslounge’s stuff, most especifically donation set 09 ?The skins are not at PMBD (just 1 dress from that particular set). ANd I cant get the meshes from the site either because its too disorganized, some skin links go to meshes and vice-versa so you never get it to show in game. Plz??? Take care :)

    Silver’s Reply: Hi Cordy. As I mentioned above everything in the torrents is either from PMBD or SimsFileVault. SimsFileVault’s been down for ages, I don’t know if it’s even coming back up again, so if it isn’t in the booty I can’t help you, sorry. There’s a request thread at PMBD’s Treasure Chest forum, you could try asking there.

    I was looking into Peggy’s hair packages and couldn’t find mesh #00278 (and its recolours, 00727-733), mesh #00284 (colours 00735-743); mesh #00536 (colours 01178-1189), and mesh #00260 (colours 00695 -703). I was almost considering paying (absurd!) only to get these meshes, until I found this, but unfortunately they’re not available. Could you (or anybody) please find them for me?

    Silver’s Reply: Hello again, Cordy. Peggy has probably updated since I created the torrent, so please have a look at PMBD and see if they are there. Peggy does have a really stupid naming convention (some meshes are referred to by up to 3 different names) which makes things a bit more difficult when looking for a particular mesh. Again, make sure you’ve thoroughly checked the booty (go through all the preview pics to make sure). If you still can’t find them then try asking in the Shopping List thread at PMBD.

    Silver’s reply: The RAR does indeed contain 5 meshes and 14 recolours. It’s nearly 6 megs after all. Look here. Maybe your RAR utility doesn’t want to co-operate. Try ExtractNow or Filzip.

    Silver’s Reply: PMBD is working fine. The problem is most likely that you have either a) downloaded too many items in a short period of time or b) you have been using a download accelerator. Either will get your IP banned temporarily, in case you’re a DDOS-er. You need to use a proxy like hidemyass.com to regain access. In the future don’t download so much so quickly and never use an accelerator.
