TSR sinks to an all-time low…
The depths Thoma$ will sink to… Buggybooz @ MTS2, who PS is one of my fave CC artists, recently had her stuff ripped off by Shakeshaft, one of T$R’s Featured Artists. Obviously, Buggy was rightly well peed off and threw up a fuss.
Then Buggy’s MTS2 account got hacked, and her stuff all pulled. Her policy was changed to ‘do whatever you like with my content’. Coincidence? I think not. An IP check reveals a match with Thoma$$…

I think it’s clear here one of the following things happened:
- Either Thomas himself removed Buggy’s stuff, or
- Thomas gave the password to his account to somebody else at TSR and they removed itIn addition to the above, they must have gotten buggy’s password from somewhere, which indicates one of two things:
- Either the TSR admins have a way of unencrypting passwords of members, or
- The passwords are not stored encrypted.Either way, the blatant violation of buggy’s personal details is clear – and either a TSR admin used them (a clear violation of privacy) or gave them to somebody else (which is an even bigger issue).
“But wait!” I hear TSR say. “We didn’t do this, you can’t prove it.” Sorry, but the account clearly belongs to a TSR representative, and clearly has not been used until such time as buggy reported the bad TSR content. The timing and the individuals involved, combined with the proof of IPs and browser info, are too blatant to ignore. I expect the “We didn’t do it, please remove the false accusation” PMs and mails to arrive any day now.
I really don’t know what TSR expected to achieve here. Nothing was lost, everything is back the way it was, and really the only things that got hurt is their own reputation becuase even if they gave the password to somebody else, did they expect nobody to find out? Did they expect buggy – or the community – to take this at face value?
It’s clear to me that TSR either sanctions underhanded tactics, or uses such tactics internally. The best thing to do when getting reports of stolen items is to actually investigate such reports and deal with them, not to go to another site, use blatently private information such as passwords to login, and then delete stuff – which as you can see, didn’t work anyway.
The lesson to be learned here is:
1. Don’t use the same password on TSR as you use ANYWHERE else.
2. TSR can and will share any of your personal details, INCLUDING password, and use it however they want.
3. If you ever report anything to them about one of their FAs, they will take “action” against you.All this just goes to show how EAs new best friend really treats the community and what it thinks of private user details.

Here is an interesting bit of gossip from Calalily at PMBD
She was canned by TSR as an FA, and to save face begged Thomass to be allowed to stay on as FA for free. Thomass being the cheap b*****d he is, agreed (all for Silus, all for Silus). So Neptune Suzy’s downloads are pay, but she doesn’t get a single cent for them – serves her bloody right.

The Torrent Queen is Abdicating
I am stepping down from the Torrent Queen role and whoever wants it can have it. My original aim in torrenting paysite content was
- to annoy T$R
and
- help spread the message that Paysites Must Be Destroyed,
and I feel I’ve succeeded in both.
Please don’t request any new torrents – a refusal often offends. You may ask me to seed my existing torrents if they’re slow or dead, but that’s all. If I’m bored I might put Simal and BlackGarden’s stuff on the torrents, but right now I am up to my ears in my Kid Liquorice project, so don’t hold your breath…

I just came across this thread on PMBD and something has happened which I thought impossible: my opinion of Thoma$$ has got even lower. This is by Aikea Guinea, explaining why she left FA at TSR (and also solves the mystery of why she and Gelydh didn’t get listed on the retired artists page, which I was wondering about before)
I wanted tell you ‘my story’ and explain why I left TSR. This is in by no means a cry for attention, I’m just tired of staying silent to ‘protect’ someone else. I’ll skip a long and stupid intro and just jump right into the long and stupid story.

Why no mention of Aikea and Gelydh..?
Something strikes me as strange here. It’s been some time since Aikea Guinea and Gelydh retired from FA status, yet their names have not been added to T$R’s retired artists page (thesimsresource.com/artists/retired/). Two more recent departures (so recent that, at the time of writing, their content still hasn’t been free released) Confide and Tantra, are already listed on the retired artists page. So I wonder why Aikea and Gelydh aren’t? Weird. T$R’s choice, or Aikea and Gelydh’s?
Why you don’t own the mesh file
By someone who actually knows what she is talking about… A message from Nouk in response to copyright claims by RoseSims2.net (spellings corrected by me, because I am such a pedant)
1. Whatever you import into Milkshape, has the skeleton information from the Sims 2, which give the mesh it’s animation. Even if you delete the meshfile, the skeleton (bones) remain, otherwise the hair wouldn’t work in the game.
Rose did not create the game animations nor the skeleton and bone information, EA/Maxis did.
2. After that, the mesh gets exported into the .gmdc format. Also, EA/Maxis made coding, not Rose.
3. The GMDC holds the bone assignments/animation/skeleton info and the mesh shape itself. (And more, but let’s give Rose the benefit of the doubt) Already 3/4th doesn’t belong to Rose!
4. The GMDC with the meshshape (from which the actual mesh shape is the only thing Rose owns, NOT the animation, NOT the bones, NOT the skeleton, NOT any coding, NOT ANY GAME FILE AT ALL) is put into a meshpackage that contains:
5.- GMDC (Geometric Data Container) = only 1/4th Rose work, 75% game file, straight from the game with the mesh shape replaced and assignments redone
- GMND (Geometric Node) = 0% Rose work, 100% game file, straight from the game
- CRES (Resource Node) = 0% Rose work, 100% game file, straight from the game
- SHAPE = 0% Rose work, 100% game file, straight from the gameGuess what, Rose changed roughly 25% of 25% of the whole damn mesh package. 6,25% is changed by her, out of the whole damn custom meshfile.
She owns it? because she edited 6,25% of an original EA game file? Get real.

… the torrents will stay up until T$R free-releases their work, but isn’t it strange, they’ve both decided to call it a day at the same time…
Sorry about the blurry pics, this danged theme is so frickin’ narrow. Now could they… could they really be one and the same person?!
Or perhaps they’re going to set up a free site together elsewhere… One can only hope…

Fixed meshes from Aikea and Geyldh – hosting at their request while they get all of their content on their new site. Find these items under TSR/z-retiredartists/aikea/fixed_meshes_from_aikea and TSR/z-retiredartists/geyldh/fixed_meshes_from_geyldh.
Nice though, more departures from TSR – I bet Thoma$$ is weeping into his hanky. I’ve already removed two torrents, Juttaponath and Cloisonne, because they have both gone free! Gelydh and Aikea will make two more.
More paysite torrents!
Looks like more and more people are seeing the light… I found this little gem today VitaSims torrent (it wasn’t me!!). I wonder who did it? Wouldn’t it be great to have every single pay artist’s work on the torrents? Here’s hoping we see a few more torrent queens (and kings!) emerging.

Ms Barrows becomes a FA
Ha ha!! Ms Barrows has returned to FA status at TSR. This means her stuff will (eventually) end up in the booty. This is good news for me! I was contemplating re-registering to get my mitts on her stuff, but it looks like I won’t have to any more

I couldn’t resist the cheap jibe, sorry. But really! These sheep continue to astound me with their sheepiness every day. What a real treasure! Good to know that some still have more than one brain cell to rub together though
